I have worked as a Chairman in the NHS for 12 years alongside many Clinicians and I found Mark comparable with the best. His whole approach gave me confidence and settled me despite the fact I was very nervous. His whole approach is epitomised by the telephone call he made on the evening of each day of surgery to ensure that I was comfortable and to enable me to ask ank outstanding questions. A great example of patient care. I would not hesitate to recommend Mark to my friends and family

I had thought about and looked into laser surgery for over 10 years, I have a high prescription and a high astigmatism. After my initial consultation with Mark Wevill at Optegra (Birmingham) I had no hesitance to book Lasik surgery. It was great to be able to meet Mark on the initial consultation who was very professional and honest. There was no pressure to book the surgery and I was given plenty of information. Mark Wevill and all the staff were fantastic on the day of surgery. Mark Wevill has a genuine caring manner, to the point he even contacted me on the evening after the surgery to check I was ok. It has only been a week since my surgery but I am delighted with the results to date. I would highly recommend Mark Wevill

After hesitating for years, decades even, about having laser treatment to treat myopia, I consoled myself that at least I could read without glasses. I heard about the Optegra clinic in Birmingham, multifocal lens replacement and, in particular, Mark Wevill was recommended to me. I had a battery of tests to check that I would be a candidate for multifocal lenses and then a discussion with Mark. There was absolutely no hard sell and Mark explained the procedure very clearly and in detail - his question about how often I cleaned my glasses was intriguing but now that I have the new lenses I understand what was behind it. I had a multfocal lens inserted in one eye last November and still get a kick out of waking up in the morning to sharp, bright vision for the first time in 50+ years. After follow-up and discussion with Mark about the prescription, my second eye was done two weeks ago. I now enjoy 20/20 distance vision in the "first" eye, with computer range close vision, and the "second" eye has slightly less distance vision but I can read all but the tiniest print. So I am all-round delighted with my new eyes. All the staff were friendly, competent and calm and gave very clear information both before the procedure and while it was happening. I appreciated the follow-up call from Mark Wevill during the evening after the procedure and I am confident that I could contact him at any time with any concerns.

Being a lady of a certain age I was increasingly frustrated by having to delve for glasses every time I wanted to read something! During my first consultation with Mark Wevill at Optegra (Birmingham) lots of tests were carried out and all options were clearly explained. I was put under no pressure at all to make a decision and after several weeks consideration, guided by Mark's advice, I had lens replacement in just my right eye on 10th March 2016. All stages of the process have been fully and patiently discussed with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and monitoring after-care is still ongoing, which is reassuring. I have no hesitation in recommending Mark!

I've had lens replacements in both eyes and lasek surgery in one eye. The experience from start to finish was amazing. The whole team from receptionist to Mr Wevil were friendly and professional and I was at ease the whole time. There was no hard sell and at no point did I feel any pressure to have the procedures. In fact, I was encouraged to come away and think it through after the initial consultation. The procedures were painless and recovery was quick. I couldn't believe that I was reading a book with small print on the same day as surgery. I'm so glad that I went ahead as it really has been life changing. I no longer need glasses or contact lenses and I have 20 : 20 vision. Thank you so much Mark, especially for the follow up phone calls to check that everything was OK. A very nice personal touch which I wasn't expecting.
